Yet another computer problem solved...

I've been plagued by the speedy gonzales sound problem. It's not really entertaining when every piece of music sounds like the chipmunks. So I made a trip to COMEX sunday evening to grab any cheapo sound card I could find. A generic Eagle something was selling for $15, but cautious me settled for the cheapest Soundblaster 5.1 Live for $56. Brought it back and fixed it up. Installed the Creative Play Center, and before someone could say "can eat or not" the computer shut itself down.

And it couldn't startup again. All I saw on the screen was some "lsass" error.

And so, for two days and five-over hours, I was desperately trying to get back into the windows environment. Don't ask me how I got everything back, but the sound's running fine now and better than before. (of course). And ....

Lsass is the Local Security Authentication Server. It is used to verify the validity of user logins to your computer or the server.

And on another note, it's interesting how many flashbacks one can have during a instrumental concert.
