:: Part 18 – 29 June – Bernina Express ::
1030hrs – Just arrived at Pontresina, a small village up in the
Mountains (1774m above sea level).
(Sitting in the Bernina Express with my new Freitag)
The train ride – the Bernina Express has been an
Enjoyable ride. The panoramic windows allowed an
Unblocked view of the mountains and the surrounding scenery.
It passed through many arched bridges and castles and cathedrals
And undulating terrain with farms and grasslands, and then
Rapids and rivers and waterfalls. The train was very packed; in fact
It was full – which was expected given this peak summer season
With fantastic hot weather (the people here like warmth).
(Guess how old was the person who took this photo? Note the finger…)
There is just so much nature to see, to experience, that
I think it would be most ideal to spend a few weeks in the
Swiss Countryside in summer.
(View from the Express)
(View of the Interior of the Bernina Express)
(The View at the Top of the Swiss Alps)
(Another Postcard View. The Snow from the Alps was actually
Melting and Forming Waterfalls that Flow into the Lake)
(The Part where the Express makes a 360-degree Turn)
(Bernina Express is actually 100 years old already)
I did not write much during the journey, but took
Many pictures. The train the arrived at Tirano just past noon.
I was officially in Italian territory.
