:: The Painful Thing About Letting Go ::

The painful thing about letting go,
is that everything that were so precious before --
the sacrifices made, the memories of time spent together
, the objects shared, the promises offered, the love professed,
the plans grandly laid out--must now be weeded from the consciousness,
exterminated from the mind, when they have already been so completely
intertwined with your very being, weaved so tightly into the fabric of
your existence, that their exorcism will murder your soul,
leaving you a mere shadow of your former self,
yet desperately you choose to hold on,
even while those ephemeral moments slip rapidly from
your fingers, echoed by the cries everybody hears
but no one listens to, as you wrestle alone in the darkness,
as your battered spirit starts to fade,
into a void, into...
nothingness.
