:: Adaptability ::

Given a choice, I would have said no to this posting.
Now that I'm thrown into the deep end of the pool, I swim.
And I'll do a synchronized swimming set with those around me, if necessary.
Since I'm already wet I may as well get rewarded for it.

While I'm treading water, I think.
If I'm able and going to adapt to my conditions and
Not only excel what what I do but enjoy doing it by adjusting internally.
When would I really know what I want to do?

I take a quick look around.
I make sure I'm not in a pot of water that's about to boil.

It doesn't take boiling water to kill. 60ºC is enough to kill. So, what powers of observation to you use to determine that the pot is not boiling over?

Maybe I should rephrase "I make sure" to
"I try to make sure".

I do not profess to know the answer.
What do you think?

I hope things work out eventually. :/

The problem, methinks, is that because things will always work out eventually, we'll never know what we should do.

...a pot of water that's about to boil.

*throws in potatoes, carrots, seasoning..* :p

make sure you have a 'safety net' before you jump...or alternative exit

i'd get outta the water, cuz there's a Lady In The Water and she looks scary.

i'd get outta the water.

Do you know how frogs can be cooked without knowledge?

If a frog is put into a boiling pot, it will jump out immediately.
But the frog can be cooked by turning up the heat gradually, while it adapts to the raising temperature. Ergo, a boiled frog.

Sometimes, adaptability and being comfortable to the environmental conditions may not be a good thing.

It's dangerous to accept parables as facts.

My bet is the 'frog' will jump out way the moment it feels uncomfortable in its environment, be it cold, warm or hot.

If there is no way to leave that pot of water {i.e. covered pot}, the resultant fate is a foregone conclusion.

Then I can at least be a good dish and be happy about it.

as you said, humans can adapt...

all the best yah...

humans adapt yeap.. given time.. oh well.. army.. hmm.....

i still can't swim although i've learnt to cycle recently. so i guess that means some people are better at adapting? :P
