:: Happy Ending ::

:: Happy Ending ::

This is the way you left me,
I'm not pretending.
No hope, no love, no glory,
No Happy Ending.
This is the way that we love,
Like it's forever.
Then live the rest of our life,
But not together.

::::::

I Listen.
I Ponder.
I Purse.
I Wonder.

:: Sunscreen and a Visit to the Dentist ::

G initiated a 'friend request' on Facebook a fortnight ago.
I did not recognize or think I know G.
I sent G a message.
Do I know you, I asked.
I have to know you to add you as a friend.
Maybe you could tell me more about yourself.
G told me he's a dentist.
G is a dentist and he is studying part-time.
I thought of a common topic - my crown.
My front crown was corroding.
And I needed a dentist to look at it.
So, an appointment was made.
Today was my second appointment.
The traumatic one - to remove the crown.
G drilled and drilled and drilled.
I inclined, agape.
I thought of 'Brazil' and the end scene.
Finally it was over.
G inserted the acrylic one.
The porcelain one will be ready in ten days.
Till then, take nothing that may stain the teeth, he said.
No coffee, no tea, no red wine.
And no chilli crabs.

Hours earlier, I was on my way to G's clinic.
I tuned my phone to LUSH.
Screenscreen was playing on the airwaves.
Screenscreen brought me a different feeling this time.
Certain lines made a lot more sense.
I wonder if others lines would make more sense
A decade or two, from now.

Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
How apt.
